Wednesday 3 March 2021, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET, we will host a “This Is CBN Science” webinar about Museums, Culture & Playful Learning.

Sibel Yali, innovation and education expert from Turkey, will introduce a keynote speech by Eda Göknar, Head of Learning Programs at the Pera Museum in Istanbul, followed by a keynote speech by Ataer Argüder, co-founder at Aura, who will show us “new generation of museum visiting experience”.

The webinar will focus on the importance of the global dissemination of digital solutions developed for teachers. Participants will explore how to use the teachers’ guidebooks, that have been specifically prepared for Pera Museum’s exhibitions, and how to give their students tours of the exhibitions, as well as the activities designed for different age groups.

More about the speakers

Ataer Argüder (Co-Founder, Director at Aura – Museum Genius) is an experienced businessman/serial-entrepreneur. He has been actively working in IT, Entertainment and Retail sectors for over 15 years.He is currently building Aura – Museum Genius, with the mission of making art and culture more accessible for everyone, everywhere. Aura is an innovative storytelling platform offering new ways of connecting storytellers with cultural institutions and their visitors around the world. The end-to-end Aura platform is providing museums with cutting-edge infrastructure and innovative tools to offer better visiting experiences while generating additional income and useful data. Aura is a global partner of Microsoft, members of official industry bodies, and on its way to scale its operations globally.

Eda Goknar - Pera Museum

Eda Göknar completed her academic studies in Leisure Management in 2008 within the scope of the Erasmus program at Inholland University.  Her undergraduate degree is in Art Management and graduated from Turkey – İstanbul, Yeditepe University in 2009. She also completed the “Art Therapy” certificate program at İstanbul, Aydın University. Professionally she has been focusing on learning programs in the museum for 10 years. She is currently the Head of Learning Programs at Pera Musuem. She develops and teaches multi-disciplinary contents of the Museum Collections and temporary exhibitions. In addition to all these, she develops and implements physical and online learning programs for kids (ages 4-6), youngs (ages 13-17), adults (18 and older), elderly (dementia/Alzheimer), school groups (pre-school, primary, middle, high school) and teachers. As of 2019, she is a part-time instructor at Yeditepe University, Arts and Cultural Management undergraduate program. Since June 2020, she is a member of the International Council of Museums, Educational and Cultural Action Committee Turkey National Correspondents.

Sibel Yali is an educator based in Turkey, a PhD candidate in Social Studies Education (İstanbul Cerrahpasa University) interested in historical thinking, history teaching and methodology. She holds a BA in History (Bogazici University) and two master degrees in Knowledge Management and European Studies (İstanbul University). She is the co-author of books related to history education and post-truth. Currently she works as an advisor in Incode.ist and an area editor at Journal of TUHED and serves as HundrED.org Academy Member. She also acts as a core connector, community builder, and Country Lead for the HundrED network in Turkey.
