Fariel Salahuddin is the founder and CEO of UpTrade (Goats for Water), a social enterprise that is empowering smallholder livestock farmers globally to use their livestock as currency to purchase otherwise expensive solar water pumps and solar home lighting systems. Goats for Water has received international acclaim for its innovation. Fariel has been featured as part of the BBC’s ‘People Changing the World’ program and in Inc. Magazine. Fariel is also the Finalist for Cartier Women’s Initiative for 2019. Prior to starting Goats for Water, Fariel worked with the World Bank, ADB in Pakistan, Indonesia and Nepal as an energy specialist advising Governments on Energy policy. She is also a speaker on social entrepreneurship and personal growth and is passionate about bringing change to the underserved populations through entrepreneurial endeavors.
